Nailah Franklin had been missing for over a week and informed police that she had been receiving threatening phone messages. Franklin also didn't show up for an important meeting at her job. This prompted Franklin's co-workers to call Franklin's family to inform them that something could be wrong.
Friday, Franklin's body was identified behind an abandoned building. There is an investigation going on as to the cause of her death.
Franklin was 28 years old, a pharmaceutical representative and at the prime of her life.
How could something like this happen? We don't know what happened with Franklin but it prompts me to be a little bit more cautious.
You remember all those sayings that are mama's and grandmama's taught us. We think at times their lessons are outdated or we are smarter than them. You know, like were invincible. I am guilty of thinking that I am invincible at times, too. I think if we just remember those lessons given to us by those who are so wise, it will help us stay in check.
Little Lessons from my mama:
If you have to go out at night, make sure you bring a friend with you..
Just like Franklin did, let someone know if you are being threatened...
Let someone know close to you, who you hang out with.......
(guilty: I don't want my mama knowing everybody I hang with, but I will divulge some names ASAP)
If you leave town, let someone or a family member know you are leaving........
(next time you go out for the weekend with the girls, tell somebody)
"What a diva knows for sure" today is: Let's remember what mama taught us.....
